While studying abroad in Italy, I simply wanted to take notice and observe the people around me. Intrigued with the idea of what makes someone a tourist or traveler in contrast to a local, I wanted to explore the vast alleys and bustling streets throughout my trip and discover what I could about cultural differences. Using a medium format twin lens camera, the individuals I photographed were either unaware or indifferent to my camera’s presence allowing me to capture these seemingly simple moments.
